Working with Janelle Gillian on the branding for her professional organizing business was a delightful process. It’s always refreshing to work with a client who knows exactly what they want, yet gives you the creative flexibility to play around with ideas. I relished the chance to incorporate my love of illustration into the branding.
Janelle wanted to include her own personal style - a mix of modern California boho with the classic style of Audrey Hepburn - into the illustrative logo she was after.
Initial Sketches of Janelle
After some tinkering, I finally got the illustration to a point that I was really happy with. The illustrated Janelle looked confident and positive. As if to say: “Hey there, I’m Janelle. What needs sorting? Let’s get to work.”
Very ‘Rosie the Riveter’ vibes, but without the bandana and featuring one of Janelle’s favorite things: polka dots.
